COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
We have developed two plans for hosting this event.
If COVID restrictions remain the same, or more lenient, we will move forward with Plan A. However, if cases increase and gathering sizes are reduced, we will change to Plan B. Macomb County reserves the right to update or change safety measures at any time.

Additionally, to help stop the spread of COVID-19, we ask that anyone who is sick or thinks they may be sick, to please stay home.
PLAN A:
-
Event participation will be capped at 200 people, or the current Public Health Guidelines for outdoor gatherings, whichever is more restrictive
-
Implement social distancing measures at packet pick-up. We have a large tent reserved which will allow us to spread out and avoid crowds
-
Implement social distancing measures at the start line, including staggered start times
-
Include finisher medals and any additional swag items in individual bags, to avoid contact and crowded areas
-
If providing food or drink to participants, everything will be individually
packaged and spaced out

PLAN B:
-
Run the 5k course anytime that is convenient for over the weekend from
noon Friday 8/20, all day Saturday 8/21 or thru noon Sunday 8/22. You can also run it as a traditional virtual race anywhere else you would like to run -
The actual race course at Lake St. Clair Metropark will be all flagged out and will also have directional arrows and mile markers. Our traditional
Start/Finish line will be clearly marked out in the usual spot -
Everyone who registers will receive a swag bag at packet pickup
-
Two packet pickup dates: Friday, August 20 and Saturday, August 21
-
Log your finish time into the race website and see how you finish in your age group
-
We are still working with our Marine Sheriff Division to determine if it will be safe to allow participants to complete the paddle portion of the race. Please stay tuned.
